Canada Imperial Electrical Power Group recently released an advanced SF6 Multi analyzer iSF6-1800 Plus for measuring dew point, purity, decomposition products and chamber pressure for GIS switchgear and high voltage equipment. It can collect/store used SF6 gas in an on-board cylinder. The used gas can be pumped back to the original equipment under test after analyzing. iSF6-1800 Plus has integrated advanced measuring cells, i.e. worldly recognized chilled mirror technology for SF6 dew point measurement, non dispersed Infrared (NDIR) technology for SF6 purity measurement, non-dispersive UV absorption photometry (NDUV) for decomposition products measurement with high precision and stability. The unique way of sampling, high precision flow auto control and touch screen operati on improve the accuracy and ease of use. iSF6-1800 Plus is featuring real-time sampling, dynamic data display, data redundancy storage, user-friendly interface, and advanced sensor anti-jamming technology, it is the most ideal SF6 comprehensive analyzing instrument in the world.

SF6 is a well-known greenhouse gas, due in part to its atmospheric lifetime of 3200 years. Its global warming potential is 23900 times greater than that of CO2. It was one of the six greenhouse gases to be prohibited discharge of into the atmosphere in Kyoto Protocol, 1997. It is vital and mandatory that SF6 gas is collected and stored after measurement, for EU and IEEE has issued regulations to reduce SF6 emissions to the environment. It’s vital and compulsory to collect and store used SF6 gas after measurement considering the security criteria in any case for SF6 field test staff safety. Environmental protection requirements based on the choice of a "zero emissions" SF6 analyzer is urgent.

iSF6-1800 Plus is designed to measure dew point, purity, decomposition products while recover and store used gas at the same time. It is upon user’s demand that pump back the used gas to the original equipment. The whole unit is contained in a robust waterproof ABS trolley for safety and availability of customer’s operation as well as transportation.
